Summit Primary Care
Superior Care for the Entire Family:
Infants to Seniors
To provide superior, state of the art family medicine for patients of all ages, infants to seniors, in a friendly, caring, professional environment.
We are proud to announce the launch of our online Patient Portal. This secure site allows you to pre-register, request appointments and refills as well as view test results and other chart documents shared by your Provider. If you are an existing patient and have not yet created your Portal account, please click here. New patients please click here to register and set up an account all at once. We hope you enjoy this new feature!
Our Board Certified, Family Medicine Providers provide our patients with all of the latest services and technology needed to exceed the Quality Care Initiatives recommended by Federal, State government as well as all the Commercial insurance companies. Through the use of our certified electronic health record software we are able to keep you compliant on your preventative care visits, annual check-ups and testing, chronic medical condition monitoring and medication maintenance. We also work very closely with area specialists, home care and hospice agencies, nursing homes, and hospitals to improve the health and lives of the people in our community. In addition to convenient office visit times for general family care, our Walk-in Clinic offers our patients exceptional after-hours care and no-appointment needed visits. Several of our Providers have particular interest and are available for appointments for general women's health, diabetes care, senior care, COPD, sports and school physicials and all Preventive Health services.
Summit Primary Care is very conveniently located for your medical care needs. We are just a few blocks from Summit Medical Center, any type of physician specialist you may need to see, as well as several outpatient imaging centers.
Our entrance has a covered drive-through patient drop-off area to avoid having to walk through any inclement weather, and we feature electronically automated opening front doors. We have wheelchairs available in the lobby for your use to accommodate patients who are unable to walk.
We now also offer free wireless internet access for guests in our building, so bring your netbooks or other wireless devices and browse the World Wide Web while you wait to see your Provider. If you would like to connect to the internet while visiting us, then please ask the Front Desk for the free connection key information.
Also, unlike many clinics or small practices in the area, for your convenience, we perform most tests on-site, including EKG's, pulmonary function testing, hearing testing, osteoporosis screening, urine drug testing, PAD testing, cardio-pulmonary stress testing, x-rays, and we also have a Dispensary if you choose to fill your prescriptions here instead of driving to and then waiting at the pharmacy.
We also have a walk-in clinic for all of your unplanned visits. It is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays. Our patients comment that it is very helpful when they either can't get out of work during business hours as well as for unplanned situations when their PCP is unavailable during their preferred time to come to our office. New patients and self-pay patients tell us they prefer our WIC to the doc-in-the-boxes in the Pharmacies because we are much more full service, our prices are comparable or better, and they get rapid access to our Dr.'s if their care requires a physician needs to take over from the Nurse Practitioner.
If you need hospitalization, your SPC physician (except Dr. Hamby) will personally oversee your admission and daily care and work closely with any specialist physicians called in to attend to you in the hospital. We are the only Family Practice Group in this area that still admits and cares for our patients personally when they are admitted to Summit Medical Center.
Most SPC Providers maintain appointment hours M-F from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dr. Gaston, Jr. starts his appointments at 7:00 a.m. M-F. Call for specifics for your PCP.
Operators are available to take appointment and other calls from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Please call during these hours to schedule an appointment. You cannot do it through the on-call Dr. or by voicemail. This is because the information we need to schedule the proper amount of time for you with your Provider requires a question and answer session with our staff.
All incoming calls to Summit Primary Care are first processed by a telephone auto-attendant, which allows you to get to many departments directly. After hours, your emergency calls can be directed to the on-call physician's voicemail, which will automatically page the on-call Dr. after you leave your message. The Dr. will call you back for any medical emergency to discuss the situation with you.
